As one of Australia’s leading sport scientists, Dr Craig Duncan has a passion for safe, professional, and ethical standards in sport science. His innovative and holistic approach to player management has enabled high level teams to maximise performance and lower injury rates in their professional athletes and has peaked the interest of many professional sports worldwide.
In 2014, he led the sport science team that contributed to a drought-breaking win by the NSW State of Origin team, the history-making performance of the Western Sydney Wanderers who won the Asian Champions League and made the grand final of the A-League. All of these achievements were formally recognised when he was awarded ESSA 2014 Sports Scientist of the year.
In 2015, as the Head of Sport Science for the Football Federation Australia, Dr Duncan has continued the winning streak with Australia’s first ever Asian Cup title – a victory being labelled as one of the Socceroo’s greatest achievements.
