To guide us through a day full of fascinating speakers and bright ideas is ‘Fast Ed’ Halmagyi.
You may know Ed best as the cooking presenter on Network 7’s Better Homes and Gardens but he is also a passionate and engaging speaker whose energy and stories are infectious.
For more than ten years Ed has appeared on and hosted a variety of television programs and on radio, and has been published in newspapers, magazines and books. He has become one of Australia’s best loved media personalities, TV chefs and food authors.
Professionally, Ed has more than twenty years’ experience cooking in some of the world’s best restaurants, both in Australia and overseas. As well as a familiar face on our televisions, he is a best-selling author of numerous cooking books and popular radio personality. His tips and tricks for transforming restaurant food into recipes that can be prepared at home have created millions of small culinary ‘lightbulb moments’ for everyday Australians.
Ed undertakes charity work with Bear Cottage, Cancer Council Australia and The Dry July Foundation. He is a keen gardener, fisherman, swimmer and long distance runner who is the proud father of two beautiful kids (and an irascible dog). He lives near the beach on Sydney’s Bilgola Plateau.
With a motto of, ‘when you do less, the ingredients can do more’ Ed is sure to have the TEDx audience hungry for more.
